Rogue Ascent, Hand-Tracking VR Wave Shooter, Adds "Battle for the Bridge" Game Mode

Rogue Ascent, a Sci-Fi VR Shooter controlled seamlessly by Meta Quest hand-tracking technology, has added a new game mode, “Battle for the Bridge", which is the final act of the player's mission to save their home world.

Check out a sneak peak of the “Battle for the Bridge”.

We sat down with Jordan McGraw, Game Creator and CEO of Nooner Bear Studio, and asked him to fill us in on this new game mode:

Tell us about Battle of the Bridge. How is this new game mode different from the rest of the Rogue Ascent gameplay?

"The Battle for the Bridge is the final act of the player's mission to save their home world. By this point in the game, they've proven themself to be a formidable opponent and have overcome many obstacles-- they'll have the guns and gear to show for it. This battle introduces an intense and upbeat pacing to the game which compliments the core design of Rogue Ascent. The game's battleground opens beyond corridor firefights to an enormous, explosive space battle."

What inspired you to create this game mode?

"I've taken inspiration from many places. For one, I love the design elements of Disney World's 'Millennium Falcon' ride. I visited Disney World during development and I did a critical analysis of everything that makes that experience so unique and successful, then brought those elements into the game. I'm also inspired by classic over-the-top 80's action movies and many more recent sci-fi movies. Edward Ray's soundtrack for the battle has been an enormous inspiration of its own. When he gets in the right headspace you can feel it all over -- and it feels good."

What do you think is the best part of this game mode?

"Absolutely the sheer scale and magnitude of this battle. At this point the player has gained full control of the enemy ship and actually gets to use it against the enemy fleet. Just when things are getting intense, they ramp up another order of magnitude."

Why will players who already own Rogue Ascent like Battle for the Bridge?

"The Battle for the Bridge is an entirely new experience, even for experienced players. I've introduced plenty of room for mastery and experimentation here. It's a unique yet familiar experience that punctuates what Rogue Ascent has always aspired to achieve. Every cool trick you've picked up comes into play and you can't help but indulge in your power."

Why will players who have never played Rogue Ascent like Battle for the Bridge?

"This battle is intended to celebrate Rogue Ascent as a game. Intense as it may be, even new players can conquer this battle. Just knowing this battle awaits you adds an exciting undercurrent to the core gameplay. It provides succinct narrative closure while also introducing thrilling new gameplay elements. You'll be thinking about it well after the headset comes off."
